When you’re travelling by airplane always remember to put liquid in a separate plastic wrapper and make sure it is accessible as you may need to show it to security (saves time digging into your bag and holding up the que… I’ve been  there)

Keep your liquids such as oils, creams, makeup etc.. in a separate plastic wrapper and make sure that it is accessible as you may need to show security. Don’t risk missing your flight or spending time holding up the line by digging out your bag.

If you have a lot of stuff and you’re unsure if your hand luggage meets the maximum weight, wear as much as possible in layers (and put them back once you’ve passed check in security)

Layers upon layers, upon layers. Once when I was travelling to China I wore nearly everything in my suitcase as I was certain that I’d gone over the maximum hand luggage weight. It is an uncomfortable trick but it is only temporary as you can restuff your bag once you have passed the airport security

Photocopy and take photos of your important documents (passport) and email it to yourself just incase your documents get lost

This is important. You must understand that things happen while you are travelling. Your important documents could get lost or stolen so it is important to have a copy as it will make it easier when you contact the embassy.
